Gotham Beauty Launch Party

This Thursday night was super busy for me and my buddy Gabi. We ran from Saks Fifth Ave to SoHo drenched in that spontaneous NYC Spring rain to make it to Gotham Beauty's launch party.
The event was AWESOME to say the least. It was nice and cozy, and you felt like you knew everyone. Gotham really knows how to throw a party; even their founder was pushing us to the bar! Such a blast! Can't wait to see what's next up their sleeve!

The venue was so cute, and natural feeling.
We wanted to party as soon as we came in the door!

The bar area (where we spent too much time!)
How cute is their logo?!

With my friend Gabi and a new friend, celebrating
Gotham Beauty all night!
Gabi and I. Thank you GuestofAGuest for

Effy Stonem Tutorial

So I'm taking my Skins UK obsession to a new level and it's starting with an Effy Stonem makeup look. Here's what I did to master her total badassery:

First, apply your primer as usual. Then pat on a sparkly dark grey.

With a fluffy brush, swipe some black eyeshadow a little above the crease in a windshield wiper motion.

Line your eyes all around with a black pencil. Make it dark. You're a creature of the night.
Also, put some white eyeshadow by your tearduct and brow bone.

Looking up into a mirror, apply some glitter eyeliner close to your tearduct to give an unexpected twist.

Voila!!! You've got eye that shoot daggers!

Add some blush, a pink lipstick, and selfconfidence, and you're ready for parties, drugs, and underage sex.
.....kiddinggg!

Illamasqua: Toxic Nature

IDK if you've heard, but Illamasqua is pretty cool. Their Toxic Nature collection for Spring has left me drooling over a few things:

First,
This pic for the collection is too cute. If you really wanted to mimic some aspects, I'd go with OPI's "Who the Shrek Are You?" for nails, also check out Manic Panic for some hair dye, if you really want.

Second,

There's the collection (sans eyeshadows because they suck). The nailpolishes are very cute, the green being already done by OPI, and the gold pretty common, the creamsicle color is the one I'm dying over to finally get my half-moon mani done. (Post if I ever get my hands on it)
The lipglosses are WORTH it. I got mine for $7 , because I'm special, but theyre usually $20-ish. The pigmentation is awesome, especially if you're not a lipstick chick. I noticed the lipglosses are kinda meant to compliment the lipstick, but I'm not into that layering game so I didn't even try it out.
Orange lipstick is a big trend for Spring, and even though you may look like you've had too many Cheetos if done wrong, some girls can pull it off. The collection's orangey color worked great on my olive, and Lina Monroe's fair skintones. Though, above $20 isn't worth it for me :/

Really, I only recommend the creamsicle nailpolish and the glosses.... And riotous hot pink hair.

Perfume Reviews

I've recently begun to work through some perfume samples I've received over the past few months and wanted to offer my thoughts:

Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf is the first fragrance I sampled this week. I was excited, but the fragrance did end up being too musky for me. Possibly because of the jasmine notes. Also, not boyfriend approved. Won't be buying it.

bebe's eau de parfum was much prettier and much more feminine. It also contained musky notes, but I didn't hate it because of the added floral notes. Probably would buy this, but not  too convinced.

Bvlgari's BLV II was my favorite scent of this week. It was the most delicate of the three, with cool notes like Violet and star anise. It would be nice for spring, with you smelling as nice as the flowers blooming around you.

These are only some scents I've been sampling lately, tell me what you're into in a comment!

benefit to go!

benefit, you guys rock!
On my most recent trip to Sephora, I couldn't find a single cute thing, except for the Hello Kitty stuff, that I wanted to try. :/

Except for this!

This is benefit's "to go" set with 3 awesome mini products to try.
The products work great together, and do a great job of sticking on all day long. This set only cost me $10, yeah, ten bucks! It's a great set, and benefit really does have cute products that do heavy-duty jobs.

From the left, you have the Stay Don't Stray primer. It works for both concealers an eyeshadows, it stays on all day for me, it is nude in color and applies that color, too. Awesome product, great travel size.
0.09 fl. oz. of product

Erase Paste is a "brightening camoflauge for eyes and face." I use it under eyes and to cover blemishes. Seamless application.
0.11 oz of product

The final product is a creaseless cream shadow/liner in "R.S.V.P."
Really is creaseless, and applies smoothly, with a pink-gold tint and minimal sparkles. Great for everyday.
0.11 oz of product.

I've been doing my makeup wrong for 10 years :/

Thank you MAC artists for teaching me how to use your products the right way!
Please comment below if there are other things I should probably know how to do... :)

Valentine Smooches

Are you ready?! I am! Valentine's day is the best, you know why? The colors of the holiday are red and pink, the best colors in the world.

Coincidentally, the best colors on your lips too.

so, let's playyyy...
The Best Lipstick for V-day Game! (MAC edition)

Im rating these by kissability (:*) = 1 point out of 5

The contenders:

In the left corner, "Impassioned", an amplified tomato color. The center, "Russian Red", a SUPER matte blood red. In the right corner, "Pink Friday", the cotton candy satin color.

Let's Get it ONN!

Pink Friday, as you can see from the smooch, is super pigmented and will come off when you smooch, so pat it on (as opposed to swiping it on). This will probably be your best bet if your making out like animals on V-day and dont want to make your mouths look like a vampire's.

Kissability: (:*) (:*) (:*) (:*)

Russian Red, my newest addition, is the mattest your lips can get with a red color. As you can see from the smooch, you shouldnt use it to seal that love letter. This color DOESN'T budge. i tried twice to get a decent kiss, but it was going nowhere.

Kissability: (:*) (:*) (:*) (:*) (:*)

Impassioned is the cutest color, butttt..... if you're kissing with it, its going everywhere. Amplified MAC lipsticks are close to matte, but less dry. The color is a lot more orangey than it looks in the pic, but you get the idea. This is ideal if you're not getting any hanky panky and being a good girl on V-day since it wont go  on anywhere except your martini glass.... or 5.

Kissability: (:*)

Good luck and comment with  your lipstick ratings too!
